ويعدّ ابن غلبون ـ مؤلف هذا الكتاب ـ من أظهر رجالات هذا الفن العظيم، وكتبه خير شاهد على ذلك، ولا زالت عوناً للمشتغلين في هذا الميدان. ولم يكتب أحد قبله في رصد اختلاف القراءات، ولم يُسبق إليه فيما نعلم.

وكتابه هذا أول كتاب ألِّف في الاحتجاج للقراءات القرآنية، وهو تحفة في موضوعه، ومنهجه، وتحقيقه، وإخراجه.
